1) Tournaments are open to all members of Cash For Bass. All contestants must be 18 years of age
or older or fish with someone 18 years or older and have signed consent from a parent or legal guardian. 2)
Membership fees are $50 per member. All members who pay this
fee will be eligible to fish the all-new single elimination Cash For Bass tournament. $40 of this fee will be placed in the
championship that will be a traditional weigh in tournament. 3)
All entries must be received by April 15th so there
is time to place all entries into the bracket. $20 late fee for any entry after April 15th due to the fact that
trying to place people closest together is difficult. Once the tournament begins, there will be absolutely no further entries.
3) All entries will be placed in a bracket format, trying to team up your first couple of fish
offs to other contestants in your area. 4)
Once brackets are put together you will be notified of your contestant. Once notified both contestants must contact each other to decide what lake they will
fish and whose boat they will use. If you don’t own a boat that part will be easy.
If contestants cannot decide on whose boat or lake, they will contact Cash For Bass and tournament director will place
both lakes and contestants name in a hat and do a blind drawing to decide whose boat and what lake will be fished. 5)
There will be a form sent to both contestants that must be signed
in agreement prior to fishing the tournament at the boat landing. All included are whose boat is to be used, what lake they
are fishing. Also how long you will fish, for example 4,6 up to 8 hours. Date you decide to fish, could be a weekend, evening
after work. Please be flexible with each other. Some do not have the same amount of time to fish as others.
This is one reason this format was put together. Each person
gets equal time in front of the boat and to fish in the spots they want. Example 4 hours fished each fisherman get 2 hours
up front. How time is split must be decided prior to launching. If the owner doesn’t feel comfortable with other person
driving his/her boat the owner will drive to the spot the other contestant wishes to fish.
If the non-owner does not feel comfortable running the trolling motor during his/her time they may opt to fish from
the back. 6)
When you are notified by Cash For Bass you will also be told
on the time frame you have to get your one on one tournament done. May be 2 weeks, more or less depending on how many entries
there are and how many rounds must be finished prior to the championship. 7)
Each contestant must also agree on a fee for your one on one
tournament. It is recommended that each contestant pay $50 each, so the winner will get $100. This must also be put on the
form and signed prior to the tournament. Another amount may be used if both parties agree. 8)
Once the form is signed and the tournament begins, nothing can
be changed. 9) Both contestants must fish fairly, no playing with each other’s equipment, no turning the boat while someone
is catching a fish. This is not Match Fishing. If there is a discrepancy in the fairness, the tournament director will interview
both parties. For poor sportsmanship, you will be disqualified from the tournament. If the director cannot decide who is right,
both will be disqualified. So please fish fairly! 10)
Cash For Bass has
the right to use a lie detector test if needed. 11)
Ok, now another thing that parts this
from the other tournaments. This will be a catch and release tournament, with no weigh in. Each contestant will measure each
bass they catch. Each bass that is over the legal limit will count. The winner will be determined by your total inches. So
your contestant will watch you measure your fish to make sure everything is fair. Everything will be rounded to closes inch.
Example a fish measures 14.25 inches; it will be 14 inches, if measures 14.5 it will be bumped to 15 inches. All bass over
legal size limit count, 5 or 20, so the more you catch the better. All bass will be measured and released immediately. All
largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass count. 12)
Once the tournament is finished, again both contestants will sign off on each
other’s total. The winner will contact Cash For Bass for their next contestant. 13) The
forms must be mailed in to Cash For Bass immediately following your tournament. 14) You
do not need a boat to fish this tournament but may need access to one as you progress through the bracket. Adjustments may be done in the bracket so a non-boater can advance. If two non-boaters come head to head
and no adjustments can be made and neither one can get a boat, both will be dropped from the tournament. 15)
To
advance to the championship, this first year if there are at least 32 entries, the top 8 will advance. The Championship will
be a traditional catch and weigh in tournament. See other Cash For Bass tournament rules for this tournament. If there are
more than 32 entries, the number to advance to the championship will be determined prior to the tournament starting. 16)
Safe
boating conduct must be observed at all times. Each competitor is required to wear a Coast Guard certified life vest securely
fastened at all times while the boat is being propelled by the combustion engine. 17)
Each contestant is expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and conversation. Also may not fish with in 25 yards of an anchored non-contestant with trolling motor
up without asking permission first. 18)
Only
artificial baits may be used. No live or cut bait is permitted. All bass must be caught alive in a legal and sporting manner.
Only one fishing line allowed in water per angler at any given time. Pork trailers may be used. 19)
All participates must are required to abide by all state laws
and game regulations in your area. 20)
Interpretation of these rules will be left up exclusively to
the tournament director. 21) A polygraph test may be required of anyone accused of acquired fish illegally or any other illegal activities.
If the competitor does not pass the polygraph test, then they are not eligible for prized and/or money. Those contestants
who fail this test will no longer be eligible for any other tournaments held by Cash For Bass Any expense involved in a polygraph
test will be the protestors’ responsibility. If a competitor is asked to take a polygraph test and they refuse, they
will forfeit any prize money for that tournament and band from any future tournaments by this circuit. 22) Alcoholic Beverages will not be permitted during tournament hours. 23) Absolutely no Cell phone or 2-way radio used during the tournament no matter what except an emergency.
